    Two Stroke Leak Tester

Had a hard time finding a thread with actual parts to make a leak tester, so though I would post what I put together from Home Depot. (This is for a JS550, so your parts may be different depending on your application)

Here are the parts in case the picture isn't clear:
    2 rubber plugs - 1 15/16 X 1 5/8
    Gas Test Gauge
    Hex Bushing - 3/4 X 1/2
    Hex Bushing - 1/2 X 3/8
    Adapter - 1/4 X 3/8

The rubber plugs are in the drawers in the hardware section. The rest of the parts are in plumbing. Total cost was around $30

I plugged the intake and exhaust with the rubber plugs, secured with zip ties, and hooked up the tester to the pulse line. I used a bike pump on the schrader valve on the back side of the tester.

Nice work, simple and effective. This is the most important step of a rebuild or annual engine maintenance, in my view.

Much easier at ACE hardware but I have made one with those same parts from HD. Now use all 3 double lip crank seals and need this tool much less often.
    Sent from my brick phone.
