    Viper 9000 Questions

Can someone knowledgeable on the subject confirm that the PJS Viper 9000 uses a standard 650 crank?

Also whether the electrics are some hybrid 550 electrics with 650 flywheel or was the flywheel a 550 on a 650 crank?

    Thanks in advance

The 9000 should be a 650 crank and electronics including flywheel.

Your viper motor has most of a 650 crank in it. The web that the flywheel mounts to is special with the taper being for a 550 flywheel. The stator is a 440/550 version and the flywheel is a 550 with an oversized ring gear so it isnt interchangeable with anything else.

Best option would be use that cylinder on a stock 650 lower end
    Everything’s easier that way

Use the 650 cases, the flywheel is much smaller.

    Re: Viper 9000 Questions

So I couldnt use a 550 MSD total loss kit I have laying around for the motor due to the ring gear size? Or could I get an oversized bendix for the starter to engage it? Assume that’s the only problem with the stock flywheel having the larger ring gear?

The motor has even 150/150 compression and is complete other than the flywheel and cdi so it would be nice to keep it together instead of building a hybrid motor (already have a hybrid motor, also have a spare 650 motor I could steal the cases from)

Doubt you will find a flywheel or ring gear for that 9000 any time soon
Try Z pilot on here... he was messing with a modified Jetenitics years ago
