    You can replace it. Or get another key any should work.
    But I think you can remove it. Do a search ( 97 seadoo xp msd dess delete)

    You can take the 2 wires that are attached to the switch & join them together & see if it stays running.....

    You can get a replacement for the 42.00. I don't think it's operating as a dess, it's just a kill switch right now. Try using any let on it. If you replace it you still have a kill lanyard.

    Thank you for all the ideas everyone I think what I'll do is try to attach the 2 wires together to confirm that it does stay running and that it is the dess post if that works then ill replace it

    Many racers with that system went back to the pre-DESS spring loaded button and lanyard.
