Thoughts on broken handle pole 1991 650 superjet

As the title and pictures show I am trying to find the best option for repairing or replacing the handle pole. Not sure if this is repairable or if it is best to look for a sn or rn as a replacement. Wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks.

you can fix it.. grind out the break.. grind back on the pole to make room for some material and fiberglass and epoxy it.. Its hard to make pretty but easy to make strong

Will be heavier, will break again, tho prob next to the repair, the new strong piece is going to move and increase the stress right next to it

If you're going the repair route I would add reinforcement to the inside, either angle or channel in some good ss like 6063, fiberglass it in place. The longer the piece you can work in to place the better to spread the stress over a larger area.

Depending on your budget, and goals, IMO the "best" mod you can do to a square nose is to add a RN pole. It totally changes the feel, and handling.

Make sure to look for a 96-07. 08-up poles have different steer ratio, and are slower steering.

We have our own, nice billet, Watcon conversion bracket to run a RN pole on a SN ski
