    Compression test results 91 waverunner 3 650.

So i compression tested the motor upon purchase as a non runner. Results were 150 lbs. And 110 lbs. So i said whatever it is winter time no better time to rebuild, well curiosity got the best of me so i got it running gave it a few revs and shut it off. Compression tested again, and suddenly i have a dead cylinder.. turns out the headgasket is blown after tear down, which wasnt the worst news consdering its getting a new top end anyway.. but this literally happened on both motors. Both compression tested on the low side then got them running, compression tested again, and suddenly, i have a dead cylinder? Wth lol ? Any insight

    Welcome to the site.

Sounds like it is time to tear down and inspect.

This is what i came up with on engine 1, blown headgasket some scoring on piston and cylinder. Sent cylinder off too machine shop along with head to clean everything up and went .25 overreceived_1837780636290745.jpegreceived_335164847229469.jpeg

So the head gasket was giving out and gave low compression, you got it running which is massively larger amounts of stress on said failing component, and then it failed completely and you asking wth? Thats how mechanical things go bro

If you look at that headgasket and can say it gave out in that fashion at idle sure lol

Overheating ? Check all cooling system parts throughly , or , you will have another boat anchor to add to the piston God offer table
