    WaveRunner Engine keeps cutting out

I have a 2000 WaveRunner 800XL. The engine will start up but after a few seconds it cuts off. I'm wondering if it's getting enough gas (fuel filter plugged) or could be something else. I put in new plugs. Any recommendations for things to look for?

An engine needs three things to run. Spark, Fuel, and compression.

You need to determine what is missing from that equation, and trouble shoot from there.

Run your ski on the trailer with the seat off and look for spark when and or as it is dying. If you are loosing spark you then need to troubleshoot your ignition system.

Will your machine run longer with the choke pulled? Can you keep in running longer by introducing more fuel? (I use fogging oil sprayed into the flame arrestor) If this is the case, you need to go through your fuel system. Probably rebuild the carbs, fuel lines, filter, fuel select and so on.

Re: WaveRunner Engine keeps cutting out

^ Ok, thanks for the tips. I swapped out the fuel filter and recharged the battery but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

It doesn't seem to run any longer with the choke pulled.

I'm not sure if it'll run longer by introducing more fuel. I'll look for a video on how to fog the flame arrestor
