    Welcome, I know the Machinists, Experienced Engine Builders and Tradesmen on this site know how to do this like a Pro.

    But, I hadn't seen how to protect the threads with a sleeve around the drill bit(seems obvious now).

    Had one broken bolt recessed into a crankcase. I got it out but it wasn't pretty. Had to use JB Weld to repair the Hole.

    Epoxy repair worked. If it hadn't, I would have had to Time-sert it.

    But best to never have to damage the threads extracting the broken bolt.

    Ya, the sleeve thing was nifty & so were the left handed drill bits. Honestly I didn't even know they were available. Maybe i will pick up some assorted brass tubing from the hardware store & try that next time. Steve C.
