    who rebuilds engines?

    so been searching the forams and all i've found is old non working web sites. i have a 82 JS550 that i need rebuilt. other then sbt and kgroup. who can i send it to to rebuild it? thanks for your time and suggestions

    You can try Newmiller Machine. Contact mcn6 here on the forum, he may be able to help you out.

    I also do rebuilds here, quality parts, people send engines all the time. I will say, I am NOT cheap though. If you are price shopping go SBT.

    get an SBT long block with a warranty or build it yourself , plenty of info on this forum in regards to rebuild on that motor. parts are also available for a good price.
    takes about 2- 3 hours to build a 550 long block and people charge upward of $80 per hour , its not rocket science also not really worth it on an old 550.if you can swing a spanner and read a manual any lemon can do it.

    ask WFO if he is interested in the job , i am sure he will be able to figure it out, "seriously" he is the only one on here i would trust to build a decent motor.

    if WFO is not interested go with SBT,
