Howdy from Grand Rapids MI! Forum etiquette question

Hey there! New to the site, well sort of. I apparently made an account years ago but forgot about it. Anyways, just bought an X2 earlier this year and have been tweaking it here an there based on some of the suggestions on this site. I'm thinking of posting a couple of things that I've done which could be helpful to other users. What's the general vibe here about replying to old (but relevant) threads vs. making new ones? Are threads "closed" after a certain amount of time?

There is pretty much no etiquette whatsoever on this site anymore. Not sure it's even moderated.

I'm more of a newb but I like when the old threads are added to as long as the threads are not gunked up. If you have some straight forward information that is clean and clear then feel free to make a new thread as it is easier to reference then digging through a 33 page old thread.

Edit: By the way, my buddy and I ride around GR area. He lives just outside of GR.

Well said! I update old threads if I feel the information is in line with the information. A new thread is nice when taking a different direction or the old tread has a lot of BS from some of the less than productive, frequent posters.

I prefer adding it to older threads. People like to chime in, "this thread is ten years old", well yeah but it applies to what I'm doing and the users are still active so what's your point?

There are also folks on this site who believe the earth is flat and will never stop typing to prove you wrong, so just be ready for that.
