Dual Carbs vs single 44 on 550 sx

    Hello all,

I have a 93 550sx with every bolt on mod, ported cylinders, lightened flywheel, pipe, impeller, head etc, etc.

I am currently running a 44mm black jack carb (jetworks)

I am toying with going with dual 38's (black jacks)

Am I going to see any noticeable gains, or should I stick with the single?

This is probably an old topic, but I have been out of the game for a few years.

    Thanks all! Cheers!

You could e-mail or call Art at Jet Works and ask for his opinion...

    Great guy and very knowledgeable.

IMO, if you get the duals tuned correctly, low end will remain the same, with a gain in top end speed.

Easy to tune once jetted correctly for your set up , significant power gain over single 44 / 46 set ups , they run pretty good with single 46s , single manifolds are gold now , sold last one I had almost as soon as I acquired it , used to be able to get easily , reed skis have become way popular now days with 550 class at the finals , once aftermarket hulls become available again with better designs , wider hulls , longer pump tunnels , wide trays , etc ., that class will double in size , I still like riding 550s , or my SXRs , maybe a mini sxr hull for a 550 , already fitted with a 140 mm 750 pump , shorter handlepole , stiffer thicker upper deck and no rubber band for the hood , it's coming

NICE! I can't seem to find a dual 38 manifold for this thing though...
