    96 slt 780 polaris

Having an issue will only run about 20mph, if I hit a wave it jars something and will jump up in rpm and run about 30mph. I know it will do more than that. Anyone had any issues like this before with these? Also does anybody have the owners or service manual for this thing?

Thank in advance for any advice

Found a service manual online but in order to download or print it, I think you need to signup to Scribd.

Has great compression all 3 cylinders. like i said when I hit a wave and jar the ski the rpm's will jump up and it will take off but still only runs up about 30 mph. like its very sluggish in the water.

Back it into the water and leave it strapped on the trailer. Start it up and run it. Keep feeling the cylinder heads as it runs. Look for one not heating up like the other 2.

Probably bad coil or plug wire broken internally. All 3 coils fire together they are run in series from only one positive and one negative out of the cdi. The plug wire is 7mm and is epoxied onto a spike pin in the coil. With a bit of creativity it can be replaced if the coil itself ohms good.
