    650sx very hot

I was riding a 1991 650x stand up today. The ski is stock and has run great fro about two years since I bought it. Today when I went to flush it I noticed steam coming out of the flush port. I touched the head and it was very hot . Much hotter than normal usually its warm I can hold my hand on it. Today my hand could barely touch it for a second
I was thinking I just didn't have the hose turned high enough?

Any Thoughts would help Thank You

Should be really cool running on the hose. You may have some blockage? It is possible you didn't have the water on enough.

Maybe run it on the trailer at your local lake/river, with the hood off, and check engine and head temps in the real world.

I should also ask, how, and where did you have the hose hooked up?

I did realize that one of my hose clamps on my exhaust was broken so I could have been losing pressure causing the engine to overwork

That's a seal from the engine case drain. You were experiencing a lean condition from an air leak and that has the potential to destroy your engine. The drain is notorious for ruining a lot of them. The engine RPMs were probably running higher than normal. Almost everyone (including me) recommends that you remove the drain and block it off.
