Old newby, bought my first ski

    Hello all,
Thought I would introduce myself, Just got my first ski,(at 55) a 98 GP1200 it was parked in a garage for the last 3 years. I never rode one or sat on one till last weekend. I'm hooked!!!!!!!
I bought it last week, took me a day to figure out how to start it,(I now know about the code in the cluster) put it in the water for about an hour. Took me an hour to get used to it, but I was doing 60 and doughnuts by the end. It is set up for pre mix(I ran high test @32 to 1), it has the carb primers already and seems to be in good shape. Been reading a lot and learning. I spent most of the week removing the treads to replace them with Blacktip mats. Glad I could join the group.
Sorry about the bananas couldn't figure out how to delete them.

Welcome to your new addiction! You got a great little hotrod ski. Run it at 40:1 instead of 32.

Thank you for the info, I was just being cautious with the 32:1. Ill cut it back. I used to run my bikes at 40:1 at practice and 50:1in race trim.
