    Try the grease trick.

It is possible your shaft seals are bad, but IMO highly unlikely....

Re: 99 SXI Pro bogs on low adjustment

No luck. Cleaned the heck out of the low jets replaced low adjustment screws. Maybe flywheel or stator. Backfire problem is occurring at higher rpm. I really think it is a carb problem due to the fact that it only starts when I prime it. This sucks.

Assuming the fuel system is in working order, now need to check electrical system.

Stator was properly aligned and secured with set screws coated in Loctite?

Flywheel was properly aligned and torqued?

    From Kawasaki Manual:

Re: 99 SXI Pro bogs on low adjustment

Ok turned the low adjustment screws out to 1 1/2, stock is 1/2. This seems a little excessive but it is idling and runs. Seems a little rough and has hesitation on the low side. I will check the stator and flywheel tomorrow.

I had the same problem. It was an air leak on the reserve/on valve that sits on top of the fuel tank. I blew into the overflow line and could see and hear the leak. I bought an aftermarket pickup and got rid of the stock one and it works perfectly now! Good luck

Re: 99 SXI Pro bogs on low adjustment

does the gas tank need to hold pressure? If so my fill neck is where the leak is located. They only have a zip tie up by the gas cap. Going to put a clamp on and retry.
