    Newbie Introduction

    Hello,

First time posting and looking for some help,

I purchased a 99 XL 1200 about a month ago 80 hours. Last weekend went out on the lake when I got the ski moving it would only get up to about 25mph full throttle, I though it may be a clogged fuel line, unit ran fine but wouldn't go over 25 MPH then I hit a wave at full throttle and the ski went up to about 40mph almost like it hit a power band I stayed on it full throttle at 40mph for 10 minute, when I let off the throttle it went back to 25mph full throttle It almost seemed like something was lose.

I'm thinking remove cat and put D plate/sensor in.

Are these symptoms typical off a cat going bad?

    Thank you for any suggestions

I don't think it has a cat, might be confusing it with the waterbox or something else?

So, it looks like that thing does have an actual cat. Weird on a 2 stroke, but, whatever. A clogged cat can cause all sorts of power robbing issues. It seems, according to internet searching, that the d plate option is what works.

Not sure if it's a PV motor, but if it is, search about them. Wave eater clips save motors.

    Yamaha PV motor lives matter!!!!!
