    Max speed and GPS question

    Hey all!

I recently purchased a 2018 RXP-X 300. I know that the USCG limits water craft to about 65 mph on the water (from what I've been reading). However, I recently saw 70mph on my ski in calm flat water (with a lady on the back). My question is, do these skis ACTUALLY limit to 65? I know they make chips that can bypass the speed limiter, but I didn't know how much variable there was in the GPS speed calculation. Thanks for any help!

There is a little "wiggle room", but the throttle should decrease once the computer realizes you're approaching 70. Not sure if it would be the same wiggle room for every ski.
