    Engine removal???

I just baught a 96 sea doo 587 a week ago drove it two or three times and now has low compression on one side and wont run on both cylinders, im going to pull engine out i was wondering how it dissconnects from the drivshaft ? If i lift a little and pull engine away from shaft will they come apart? Do i need to take off clamps? Does the steering jet pump thing on the outside back have to come off to remove engine? Help!!!

Remove the clamps holding the rubber boot at the PTO and push the rubber back. Then remove the engine by tilting it up and forward.

Put up a wtb thread. Should find a good used crank reasonably. You can buy a rod kit if you can find a shop to do it. Lots of snowmobile guys up north and the cranks are similar.

I would look for 657 or 717 with the electronics and pipe.
