    Old 2 cycle oil

My ski sat for 16 years before I got it running again. I have a half of a gallon jug of genuine Kawasaki 2 cycle oil that's from the early 2000's. Is it safe or no?

    Opinions?

Do you want to risk rebuilding your engine over $50 worth of oil?

If, and I say if, I used condoms.... I'd use them being that old.

Ahem. Oil does not go bad. It can, maybe, separate, but the big thing is water, acquired by condensation.

If you don't want to run it, make some fries with it.

That oil sat in the ground for a very long time. The refining process doesn't shorten its shelf life by much, unlike gasoline. The only concern I would have is if it is rated TCW-3 and your ski requires TCW-4 (I don't think that's the case for any PWC though). I've been using the last of some Yamalube that came with some skis I bought in 2011 -- and those bottles were probably 5 years old then.
