    I'm back. SXR1500

Quick history of me. Love riding standups. 30 years. From 550, 650, 750, Sj Rn. I sold my SJ to buy a 2017 1500. Hated it. Was squirrel zone on top end. Unfixable. So sold it after a month. Well decided to get another one after a year of no ski. The 2018 was perfect out of the box. Much better on top end stability. Now I'm thinking my 2017 hull was defective out of the box. Added sponsons to the new one and very easy to ride. Hope to catch up on what works and what don't.

    Welcome back!

That's interesting as the 2017 is the exact same ski as the 2018.

I'm starting to notice quite a few of these 1500's for sale on craigslist, etc. Most people say they only had them a few weeks and they're already selling them.

I guess that's good for guys like me who want one! Enjoy!

Need some help. Just bought a new 2017. "Squirrel Zone", Yeah!! Not rideble. Wants to pitch me off side to side. Did the sponsons work to remedy this on the '17 hulls like they do for the '18s ? So are the hulls identical ?
    Thanks for any replies.

hulls are the same.sponsons will help diminish a lot of it.spend more time in the tray and you'll see they aren't bad at all even stock.

I had a 2017 on loan from a dealer for a couple of days.. That thing was extremely stable. Even at top speed.

I put sponsons on my 18. It correct the issue 100%. My 17 didnt have sponsons. I think the 17 was defective from the factory. It wanted to roll over at high speed. Severly....not just nature of the beast ****. I made my own sponsons from 3/8" hdpe. They look OEM. Mount under factory ones Super deep and set back. Can hold it wide open now. Super stable. $40. Simple. 1 hour from start to finish. You can text me 3302420123. ill send you pics.

Also just try an intake grate, from what i have heard. WCOT, TBM, JetDynamics, Skat, R&D, ect ect....It will effect the handling alot..... Will it cure your issue..... Maybe?.... Try it and see....Alot cheaper than $400- $500 sponsons.....

So, your 17 didn't even come with the factory sponsons?
