Machined impros hooker impeller issue *no call back*

    Hello everyone,

Looking to see if someone can help shed some light on an issue I'm having with an Impros Hooker Impeller. I bought a new Impros Hooker big hub impeller and had it machined for a 650 pump. The impeller installs fine in the pump but when I go to install the pump the spines on the driveshaft bottom out before the pump bolts line up. I've tried calling Impros (left a message each time) NO RESPONSE. I'm simply calling to see if there is something I'm doing wrong. My buddies installed with no issues on his. Did they not machine the spines down far enough? Whats the typical response time from Impros? I've spent $315 on something I cant use. Little frustrated.

    Any input is greatly appreciated!

chances are, your driveshaft is not seated on the rubber coupler correctly connecting to the motor.
take the rubber coupler out, put on the driveshaft coupler and hand turn the driveshaft while pushing forward to the back of the motor. you'll feel it seat inward apprx. 1 1/2 inches forward. if needed, just remove the coupler guard housing (so you can see behind the motor).. not needed anyway.

This is the first thing I thought of too.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Yeah, that was the first thing I did. Even removed the plastic housing to check.

did you take the o-ring out? impros always stuffs a complimentary o-ring in the impeller splines... sometimes you cant see it in there

Just an Update. They did get back to me and looks like they will take a look at the machining. It must be a time zone delay as to why they weren't answering. A buddy of mine did try to install it on his X2 and same issue.

This was never a thread to bash IMPROS. I was just hoping I could find some quick help on maybe I'm the idiot (quite possible lol).

So you didn't even give them 24hrs to return the call?

Impros does good work, but there can be a delay in their communication. If they got back even within two days I'd consider that good. Not an excuse, but they are busy and do excellent work. In the future just keep that time frame in mind.

No issues with installing hooker on 650sx here. Nor any issues with communication Dave is always helpful and does top notch work Prob busy considering its mid season Make sure impeller is screwed on pump shaft completely And make sure pump is actually slid all the way on shaft
