    Flywheel interchange 440 to 550?

    I picked up an '85 550 that I'm going to set up for my daughter so she can try riding a stand up. She's 17 and has enjoyed the big sit down skis but wants to really have some fun now.

    This is the little power plant... The engine was locked up, which turned out to be the flywheel rusted to the stator. I cleaned it all up, reinstalled the flywheel and it fired right up on the stand just like this. The crank snout and flywheel are shot from some past failure.

    I have a crank but need to buy a flywheel. Can you guys please give me some guidance on what to buy? Are the 440 and 550 flywheels the same, and will any piston port flywheel work? Thanks!!!

    I have a brand new OEM flywheel in mint condition but it does not have the ring gear, so you would have to have yours removed and installed. Jetinetics will be able to do it not sure how much.
    $100 if interested.

    I had a similar issue and question with my first 440. I got a 550 flywheel but it didn't run very well at first

    Have a nice 21' 550 flywheel and real nice stator that came with it from 1990 550

    I picked up a riveted 28 flywheel and already had the crank and a nice stator so I'm all set.
