    Big Bear Lake

We are thinking about planning a trip up there and was curious how the lake is for day use for group of about 8-10 with 3 sit downs. Planning on Airbnb unless someone has better recommendations. Tia, Chris..

    Re: Big Bear Lake

I see you got no response. Hopefully your trip went well. I'm up at Big Bear quite often for off roading: Jeep and motorcycle. We usually camp at Serrano or Pine Knot. Reservations can be a bit of a challenge, so stay flexible. There are several other campsites up there, so we check them all and usually find something.

As far as the lake, I've wondered about restrictions on two strokes. I haven't found anything explicit, so there may not be. The altitude will cause issues with finicky carburetors, so that may be a turn-off. The lake level is really low, but I've heard from locals that they are finally starting to come up with some plans to help raise it back up. Lake Arrowhead is full of water (damn privateers) so why shouldn't Big Bear also be full!?
