    restrictor question

working on a 1994 SLT 750.Have upgraded fuel pump.Says on instructions to be sure to leave the restrictor in place.Exactly where is this restrictor.I suppose it would have to be on the return line somewhere.Parts diagram doesn't give a very clear description

    Re: restrictor question

It's inside the return line about 1 inch from the carb. You can pinch the return line and feel if it's there. At least that's where mine a 1995 SL750 is located..

    Re: restrictor question

Just because it is still in there doesn't mean the restrictor orifice is still open at .020 thousandths . Take a Bread Tire wire and see if you can punch it through the center on the opening . Or a small torch tip cleaner . Or use Muratic Acid to clean the restrictor by soaking in the acid and not use your fingers to acid bath any parts . Muratic Acid is used to clean Copper , Brass and Tin the same way you would prepare to soldier a rediator . If nothing else spray Carb cleaner through the orifice or punch it out as described . Good luck

    Re: restrictor question

Pull the restrictor and be prepared to replace the fuel line if it is not long enough to replace it to make complete connections . most times it is best to replace the fuel line after the restrictor has been cleaned . Best Wishes .
