Re: Skis at a public landing

I see guys pulling their 550's onto their truck beds all the time.

They stand/lean the ski up against the tailgate. Then they climb onto the bed and pull/deadlift the ski onto the bed.

Once the ski is pulled up past its center of gravity, you can push the bow down and , with less effort, drag the rest of the ski onto the bed.

Or you can buy a hitch carrier...Ski Hitch Carrier.jpg

With the correct truck height. My tailgate lines right up with the bunks!

This is a Sierra with a static drop. It has helpers bags in rear to keep it from dropping more with weight in it, but they won't raise it at all. Bed is un-touched.

Hubby built me this set up.
The ladder part piano hinges at the gate edge and it just bolts onto which ever side of the frame the skis sit on
They fit perfectly in the back of the truck with room for the detachable ladder.
We are adding a winch so that I can pull the skis in and out myself

Nice set up, but very nice JS300s! Those skis look flawless.

Thanks! I used to ride a neighbour's superjet when I was a kid. These are are the first skis I have had in 15 years... something to get back into it with and for our kids one day. They are literally mint inside.
Some rich guy bought them, used them a few hours in the summer of 87 and then stored them 30 years.
The SaNo pads are a bit ugly... so now I'm like... do I keep them regardless because they are SaNo and that logo is pure nostalgia for me or grab some new hydroturf.
They are blue and pink currently so redoing is easy but I'm torn!
