That's wild, never seen that before. Unfortunately that is not a skat pump, that is a stocker thats modified. Intake grate is stock and cut out center section, r&d ride plate, both water box are stock one is modified and you do have a stinger mod on there.

Are the chokes plates still installed?

    How does she run?

    Pictures of the hull please!

Wtb theres nothing like riding one of these run abouts!

      Re: 2 year wait.

Talked to the the PO. He said that that is indeed a pump modified by Skat Trak. He personaly sent it there. First time it came back there was a bearing failure. Pump was sent back and he was told that they will lifetime warranty the new set as they are they " best they could buy". I have no reason not to believe this guy as he said bring the ski down and I'll find the leak. He said to tighten the water hose clamps around the drive shaft under the e-box. The pump generates a lot of pressure and this is a weak spot. Clamps felt loose, tightened, well see. That did, it took all of 3 minutes. Never seen an e-box come off so easy. I should be able to generate some speed with the seat off , and the e-box moved to the side to see if there is a pump leak at high speed. I'll post day pics but it looks identicle to yours, UMI steering, bar, White Beach House sponsons, a twin actually. Still has the choke plates and it starts too easy to mess with them.

Do not remove the choke plates! Double check those carbs are modified for the arestors you have on there, these are known to run lean if the carbs aren't modified correctly.

These skis are also known for drive shaft couple and thru hull leaks. I would fill back of hull with water and see if it leaks from thru hull, if not run ski with seat off and watch that coupler/bearing

Oh, ok hull drains , it has 2 if you look at the pump pic with Alysha. Can't open them in the water. Unless.... you were really quick , opened one up, and took off and rode until the bilge drained then stop real quick, and put the cap in. LOL.

Rather than yank the pump this summer... double 500 gph pumps on a float switch.

All the bugs have been worked out of ski. New Console/Diagnostic center. It's hard to screw up the ski with 7 limp modes, and knowing what the problem is , no guessing. I guess thats worth the 900.00 price tag. Easy ski to work on. I managed to remove the hull bearing bolts, break it loose and slide it into the coupler without removing a thing. Thoroughly resealed and it still leaks a little under decelleration/ negative pump pressure. actually it shoots a small stream to the top of the motor, so I added an aluminum splash shield over the coupler. With a 1000 gph auto bilge problem solved. Ignition and carbs are dry now. It's been 5 hours of flawless riding. No porpoising noticed. Might be the 4 inch set back in the Skat, modified pump. It has a heap of negative pressure. IMHO, love the ski. There are inherent problems to be worked out, but It's like wrapping your legs around a huge horse. Blistering speed and digs in the turns. Kawasakis are still the lowest slung ski in the water.

Not replacing that bearing holder will sink the ski

My last gurl only took it in the a$$ 2 times a year.

Not sure it was worth the wait.

No way.... I let the ski sit in the water with me in it and both hull drains open and the bilge pumped the water out as fast as it rolled in. There isn't a damn thing wrong with the bearing/seal. It was replaced a year or 2 back No getting around that pump pressure.

The fact you have to ride with drain plugs open, bilge pump flowing and made a shield to direct the splash from the coupler away from the carbs really sounds like there is a huge issue here..... just my opinion, I have sunk before and dont take chances when it comes to that possibility again. Back pressure of the pump? Come on man that's not a good reason its leaking.

Two common leak points on theres older kawi
