    Outpost in Hudson

A picture I found of delivery day. I wish I took pictures of all the rust on the trailer. I am such an idiot - I actually sanded/primed/repainted parts of a new trailer just because I had the supplies on hand and it was easier than taking it back and arguing with the dealer.

But look at the nosepiece of my ski, that is from where they mounted the bow stop ON TOP of my ski. Brilliant guys.

Oh, the brake lights didn't work on the trailer when I picked it up either.

Don't have any motor work done at Brewsters Sea and Ski. They said they could bore a couple cyclinders for me and well they did but they were so far out of round that when I put them back in my sled I only had 20psi compression. I called them on there mistake and they told me I can have my money back for boring and that was it. Finally got them to buy new pistons for me, but had to go to another shop and have it borred 2 over. Now if the engine blows I have to buy new cylinders. I am not to happy with them or there service. Would recommend not going there!!

i agree about st. boni i drive an hour one way out there to have stuff serviced tim deffinetly knows his stuff & for service u cant get much better then rick they fix it fast & right for a fair orice mark the owner has built him self one great shop as far as lk. mtka motor sports go please look at the place that should scare you away alone a pile of junk sled sitting up by the door a big dead tree i think the place would make a better haunted house.

              I'll start.

St. Boni Motorsports: Excellent parts department, the parts manager Tim definantly knows his stuff and he's a great guy to deal with. I'll leave it up to the rest of you to rate St. Boni's service department (I'm the only one who wrenches on my skis at this point in time so I wont be able to provide too many service department reviews). The owner of Dales Performance Inc. (Factory DPI) does all of St. Boni's machine work in house. From my own past experience I would suggest at least looking at some of the other options before letting them put your parts under the knife.

Lake Minnetonka Motorsports: I'll wait until a few others have posted some honest reviews before I say anything more.

I'll add more to this list in the near future.

Lets try to keep this to experiences that YOU have have had with the businesses.

If you know someone that has had an experience with a MN personal watercraft dealership/shop that they would like to share, encourage them to do so.

I don't know about the work St. Boni does on ski's, but I know that the work they did on my Kawi ZX6 is awesome. I would give them my business again for sure.

Just an FYI St. Croix outpost in Hudson is officially closed.

Just some general obsevations from someone who works on stuff.
I work at a boat dealer that has learned better than to try to mess with any PWC, it takes very specific training to get them to run right and to last a long time and many people that work on them don't have it. I will soon be getting my first (used) jet ski and though I can fix most any inboard or outboard i would make a total mess of my jetski if I did anything without step by step instructions.

Make sure wherever you bring it the person that is working on it actually has certifications from the manufacturer in question and at least a few years experience, it takes both to really get a job done right.

Sometimes problems are near impossible to find, or are a result of an intermittent or combination of problems, so even the best mechanics might not be able to fix some things the first time. (or ever in the case of some lemon watercraft) Don't be too quick to judge based on a bad experience since everywhere you go your going to occationally have stuff screwed up. As bad as it sounds these things are just too complex to get it right every time the first time, and many places will have something run fine for them at the shop only to fail again later. With owners and service managers pushing stuff in one door and out the other as fast as they can, the techs are pressed to do as little testing as possible to get the unit running again. Many problems can only be diagnosed or tested on the water and lots of shops don't have equipment to load test a PWC and don't want to take the extra time to take it to the water unless its absolutely necessary. Plus when you bring equipment somewhere don't expect it done when you want it, drive through service is for Burger King.
