Polaris sl model motor swap question!!

Ok I have 2 Polaris skis both 3 cylinders. One is a sl780 and other is sl900 ! In the past I have asked what will happen if I put a smaller motor in a ski but what if I put the 900 in where the 780 was ? Just curious what would happen ! Or if it would work. Also one is a95 and one is a 96

without looking at specs and shop manuals, I cannot answer with certainty, but if you are not wanting to ride the sl900 anymore and just want to salvage it to the sl780, go for it, try it and see! It might not work :P but if you have nothing to lose, other than your time, there's nothing to stop you from trying

Thanks ! The sl900 .. or the one with good engine is just a 2 seater and the sl 780 has a bad engine so I always knee if you put a smalller engine would be too weak but never knew if you put a bigger one would it not run correctly I was told and I say rims that the prop or impeller is set to control rpm as far as to match engine horsepower
