    2002 kawasaki 1100 stx di

I recently purchased a 2002 kawasaki 1100 stx di. I took it out for the first time over the weekend and it ran fine for a couple of hours. Then the warning light, check engine emblem and battery emblem start flashing on gage panel. Can a week battery cause this issue? It will crank and has spark but will not start.

I recently purchased a 2000 STX DI, I did some research and found the technical manual in the link below. It has some diagnostic tips based on your issue.

Hope this helps, and I hope you like reading technical manuals as much as I do. Looks like we're both STX newbs.

My STX 1100 DI showed similar signs when I bought it. The only difference being that it was in that state already.
These jetski are prone to have the EMM (engine management module) overheating and components within the module burning out.
I have just had my EMM refurbished at Lakeside Tech. Darrin was a real big help when it came to diagnosing the issues I had.
The things you will really need to diagnose your faults are a Diag cable and the KADIAG software.
Otherwise you'll at least need to get a dealerto read the error codes.
I hope your EMM is good and it turns out to be something else.
