    Re: Wr500 sbn38 carb

Thanks in advance. New owner of 1989 WR500 ( and fist PWC ever). Would start and run for few seconds 4-5 seconds and then die. I changed out old round body carb with square body i bought from Western Power Sports. Fires right up and runs great (not idling but not full throttle, just runs about med throttle) but no throttle response . all cables are hooked out correctly and both plates move (choke, top plate and plate in bottom, both open and close when moving choke lever and when pulling and releasing throttle thumb lever. fuel pump vacuum plugged in also. i thought the aftr market square carb would swap right out. i did try adjusting by counting turns on old carb and match to new. anyone else have any trouble getting throttle (engine speed to change after round for square carb aftermarket swap? has anyone had/mailed off a round body carb to have rebuilt?
to summarize, starts, runs ,same RPM, no increase or decrease in engine speed but i can see bottom plate open and closing with thumb throttle. Thank You

Thanks for the quick reply. Reading up on overheat sensor now and then going to go order one. Seems like an easy fix. Sure appreciate you.
