Rushford, have you seen the post on FB regarding the mold for the Fixxie hood?? I know you have to be anxious to get your hull.. Must feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!
New Skat 6/10 Big Hub Swirl from Impros! I plan to send the damaged impeller to Impros for a repair and re-pitch. The repaired Skat will go in my daughters Dart for an upgrade.
I see your AB is about ready for you to pick up! I hope you plan to document the build up with a build thread? And... Yes. I do need another project. I see an Air Blair Fixxie in my future.. How soon in the future??.. That is the question..

Why not just pick up a hood and just it on your current AB?
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
I have not been able to ride the Dart's very much this year because of an early season injury. After an early spring ride as I yanked my ski onto a trailer, my left bicep (distal tendon) decided to give way.. Here I sit nearly two months after surgery on the eve of my second post surgical follow up exam.. If all goes well, I hope to get the green light to ride soon.. It was quite a surgical procedure that included drilling an 8 mm hole in my arm bone to re-attach the tendon.. Needless to say.. I will never again try to lift a ski all by myself. I can't wait to get back in the tray and give theses skis a proper thrashing.
I have not ridden the Fixxie yet. However, I ride with a few guys that have them. Adam (Jeff Blair) prefers the Fixxie for a couple of reasons he mentioned to me. He feels it is easier on his back and he can ride the Fixxie more aggressively in surf. He also noted it is less expensive to build since you do not need to purchase an expensive pole and hardware associated with a pole ski.
I will own a third Air Blair one day and it will most likely be a Fixxie with the Air bottom, not the Dart bottom. However, I will NEVER part with my current skis as they are the perfect all-around ski in my opinion. He may still have a ski availible that can be a Fixxie or a Pole Dart.. Shoot him a message and I am certain he will respond.
I can't say enough good about his hulls. He put a lot of thought into the tray and balance of the ski. They ride like nothing else. Simply awesome!
