How To Read Genuine Mikuni Jets

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: I have used the search function and am not looking for jetting advice (although if you want to give your 2 cents that is fine)

Been searching for jetting specs for my new to me SXR as its not pulling like it should and it loads up on idle. Decided which jets i was going to purchase so I pull my carbs to check what jetting i have in there from the P/O. The ski has all the R&D goodies - power plenum with the jacket, exhaust stinger and the timing advance. Prop is a Skat 10/18

I pullled the jets to find the low speed is... Either a 56 low or a 95 low. The numbers look right either way. Now a 56 seems reeeeealy lean and the 95 is waaaay to fat. Just not sure which way to read the numbers, with the jet right side up? or upside down? The high speed is 135 which seems close.

Reason I'm inquiring is that neither of those low speed jets make sense to me. Just need to know which way to go.

    I think I'm on the right path getting 75 77.5 80 lows and 137.5 140 high speeds.

Just looking for a bit of clarity here.

    Thanks in advance!

Try going over the numbers with a Sharpie and then wiping it off
Will make old jets easier to read

Just checked again. Yup itís a 95 low jet. Iím wondering who gave the previous owner jetting advise..... haha. Iíll get the appropriate jetting and hopefully see a lot more snap out of the ski and a lot better fuel consumption haha

On another note. Is it worth trying the half size jets? Or will i be fine just getting the 75 and 80?
