    Oh yeah. At the state office I was explained the steps I had to go through to get a PWC from Colorado titled in Texas -- especially difficult when the "from" state doesn't title small boats.

    I live in NY and they require a yearly inspection. This is part of the reason i register all of my trailers in Maine. Theres companys that do this and you can get a 25 year registration. I pay about half the price in Maine vs NY. Not including my time taking a trailer i use a few times a year to get inspected.

    Here is Wisconsin you don't even have to register a trailer unless its over 3000lb capacity. I have a utility trailer that can easily hold 4000lbs, but the limit on the trailer is stated as 2998lbs, just for that purpose. I wondered about that Maine thing, the merchandise at work is delivered by the companies semis & most of the trailers have Maine plates on them.
