You could save some time by putting the vent with the

A normal 3/8 brass fitting in the original place. Absolutely
no reason for it to be any bigger. Make pulling the tank a
Little easier too. This way you could also run a check valve.
Run line from check valve inside old vent hose.
    Just a thought.
I definitely can, that's the way I have all of my other tanks.

This is so great your making tanks! I searched for years for a used tank. Even went to IMCO to have a custom one made. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Which would you guys prefer as far as the vent fittings goes? A brass 1/4" 90 fitting by the pickups/return, or a stock-sized aluminum tube in the stock location? The parts order is going in tomorrow...

I don’t think it has clearance to get a hose from the middle. The seat sits flat on top of the tank. A brass fitting at the stock location would be okay, but otherwise I guess I favor the stock tube.

I'll take a tank. I'm with Mason on using the stock tube location.

Quick update; I'm just waiting on the lasercuts to be finished up. I'll post pics as soon as I get some tacked up. I will be on vacation next week though so if they aren't done before then it won't be until after I get back.

Sorry about the delay, I've been busy cleaning, cutting, and welding. Lasercutter bent one of the parts wrong so it ended up taking a bit longer than expected before I could start welding. There's a lot of welding on these but I'm hoping to have them ready to ship by the end of this weekend.

I added a small batch of these to a recent 7.1g lasercut order to cover some requests after I sold out before. I'll have two of these available if anyone wants one. Price is the same as before.

Here's a pic of one installed:
