    1989 650sx stops running

Hi guy, I have a 1989 650sx. When I get it started it will run for a few minutes and die. I have new plugs, new fuel lines, new coil, new battery, and new starter cables. Is there something I may be missing? Thank you

I would suggest checking your head gasket and the torque on the head nuts/making sure you don't have a loose stud. Compression test when it is warm may be a good indicator as well.
It might be possible that once warmed up after running, a leak from the jug to the water jacket develops. If this is the case, you also may see steam coming from the pisser rather than water.

If it is just "dying out" and you think it may be related to the electrical - make sure all contacts are free from corrosion, and test the stop button to make sure the two wires are "open" when the stop button is not pressed. If you measure the two wire ends for resistance and get any ohm reading other than infinite, then the stop button wiring may ground out the spark causing the motor to die out.

For your ski to run, you must have spark, fuel and compression. You need to determine what is missing from this equation when your ski quits, and trouble shoot from there.
