    Re: trailer tie downs ?

they are sitting on a load rite trailer . didnt know whether to use the transom ties on ski or the tow eye behind seat . didnt know whether to get 2 foot tie downs X 4 or go with the tri ties only 2 , thought maybe the tri ties would scratch the ski and wasnt sure if they work with cover .

    Re: trailer tie downs ?

I tie my GPr down using 3 straps. one one ea rear corner and the third on bow eye so I don't rely on winch. tying from rear corners of ski to very outside corner of rear trailer frame.

you have tie loops on rear corners of your ski? correct. I'd use them and go to the rear trailer frame and a third to back up winch. tying it down this way makes covering it very easy as there is nothing in the way. the cover secures well under bump rail with no straps in the way holding it off the body to catch air.

I also customize my ratchet straps. I trailer the ski hook up the straps what ever way works best. slide the strap though the ratchet, mark it at about an extra foot beyond the ratchet and then burn it off at that mark with a soldering iron. then if set up right all the strap ends up on the ratchet with no extra to tie up some where.

can post pics in the morning if you would like.
