OEM vs aftermarket crank seals 89 650sx

Bought a winderosa gasket set that came with crank seals but after seeing so many postings that recommend going only OEM For crank seals I started searching for some. I found all three on eBay but now that 2 have arrived wondering how I can confirm they really are original. All were listed NOS(new old stock) but one came in just a blank box and another in a bag with the stock label on it but not sealed. I try to trust my fellow man but.... any thoughts on confirming they are real OEM? AND where did you get yours? Thanks

I know people have bad experiences but I wonder how much of that is from bad prep? I have used tons of Winderosa, Jetlyne, and WSM seals without issue. WSM offers plain, teflon, and ARS. The ARS stamping on the seal are oem for most skis. Look for that or a Kawi part number.

OEM will come in a sealed Kawasaki marked bag or box. OEM, ProX, WSM, and whatever the ones Watcon sells are all good. I wouldnt over think it. Just make sure your new seals are double lipped and have a spring on both sides.

"NOS" doesn't necessarily imply OEM. New Old Stock can
be any brand, it's just NOS.
I agree with post #2.....although I use OEM
seals on my personal skis, I have rebuilt many with
what the owner wants to buy, usually that's Winderosa.
1 of those skis is on season 7 and another is on season 4
with zero issues. I also have a Polaris Indy 500 snowmobile
that I rebuilt and then later bought that was rebuilt with
winderosa crank seals. Season five and 7,000 miles later
    there is still no issues.
So I can choose to believe the " they only lasted 1 tank of gas" stories
on the internet or the things that happen in front of my eyes.

We use quality Japanese seals here. There are many available. Not sure what winderosa, WSM etc are.

    Pro-X are always good.......
