    550 reed pistons vs pp

Hi everyone, just dropped some serious coin on 2 new sleeves and wiseco pistons for a 550 reed motor at L.A. sleeve, getting ready to send the cylinders to group k for porting and noticed they sold me piston port pistons... will these work or should i send them back? Not sure what the difference is.

    Thanks in advance.

Need twin ring reed Pistons for reed cylinder , ring locator dowels have to line up with sleeves correctly in cylinder or you will be sending it back to get repaired again

Yup even on the a piston port you'd want a two ringer lol

Called L.A. Sleeve, they tried to convince me to just run them. He told me "the book says they'll work fine" I asked which book.... He wasn't sure......

They are swapping them out for me though, guess I can't complain too much.

After spending $870 for 2 sleeves and pistons, you would think I would at least get the right parts.

Dang , that's some coin , did you have trouble finding another good cylinder ? Is was a good thing on your part to ask questions first, this could have ruined your season with warranty issues taking until 4th of July or longer to reconcile

Glad I checked the part number. Just put another one together with mostly stock internals, really wanted to start with all new stuff considering all the goodies going in this motor. Might still be a grenade but it will be fun for a few anyway.
