Looking to purchase family jet ski

I am a newbie to jet skis and looking to purchase a good family jet ski that can pull a tube and also have some fun on solo.

What are your thoughts on 2 stroke vs 4 stroke, sea doos vs yamahas etc. Looking for some good suggestions. I am looking to try and stay under the $4k mark. I can turn a wrench but dont want to be doing that all summer instead of riding. Probably looking for something that will go around 50. Some ones currently by me are:

    2015 sea doo spark $4k
2002 sea doo gtx tec $2200 needs tune up
1996 sea doo gtx $1200 under 50 hrs
    2011 sea doo gti $3850 230 hrs
2011 sea doo gti 130 with ibr $3800 200 hrs
    2002 yamaha fx140 $3250
    2002 honda aquatrax f12x $3500
2003 aea doo gti le rfi $2500

Thanks for any insight and suggestions.

If that FX140 has lower hours I'd be checking it out. Otherwise one of those 2011 GTi's doesn't look too bad.

X2 4 stroke Yamaha would be my choice. Most rentals are Yamaha, that tells you something.

    Meh
2002 sea doo gtx tec $2200 needs tune up
"Tune up" is code for "my friend flipped it and got water in the engine. It's been sitting like that for two years."
1996 sea doo gtx $1200 under 50 hrs
Not bad for the money, will need some maintenance- fuel and oil lines, pump oil, maybe carb rebuild, top end, rave rebuild depending on what's been done and how it was stored.
    2011 sea doo gti $3850 230 hrs
Hours a bit on the high side
2011 sea doo gti 130 with ibr $3800 200 hrs
    Same as above
    2002 yamaha fx140 $
    Not bad
    2002 honda aquatrax f12x $3500
NO. Blow off valve seizure is very common and not a cheap fix. Ecu also has a tendency to blow. Also not cheap. Parts getting harder to find. Never buy a ski that was made by a company no longer in the biz if u care about resale.
2003 aea doo gti le rfi $2500
kinda pricey relative to the rest

Thanks for any insight and suggestions.
