Just bought my first stand up: mods?

So ive been researching and lurking forums for a while now trying to pick up some knowledge before i went and picked up a ski. Well this past week a buddy of mine linked me up with one of his buddies who was a selling a mint garage-kept pp 550sx with a nice trailer for $650. Ive been looking for probably close for close to a year now for the right one and was originally gonna try and hold out for a REED 550 but being that im somewhat of a broke college student and that i plan on modifying this ski heavily (750 big pin swap?), i figured this was the perfect one to finally pull the trigger on being that its so well maintained and is coming from a trusted owner. so my question is, what mods should i do that would set this thing up with that would also run nicely with the 750 once it goes in?
Carb? Pipe? Water box? Electrical? It did come with a bilge pump that ill be installing and also an intake grate and pole handle spring.IMG_1369.JPGIMG_1368.JPGIMG_1373.JPG

I would definitely go with the RHASS 750 pump conversion kit. If you want
the most out of a 750 conversion ski, I would put that
    on the must have list.
2001 Superjet; R&D, Blowsion, UMI, Riva, Wetwolf, Ocean Pro.

1987 650sx: Mariner, UMI, Neo Designes, R&D, Jetsports, Renthal, Hydro-Turf, Skat-Trak, Reworked stock pipe, 40mm carb, Wetwolf F/S cone.

1986 JS300; lots of mods, fast for a 300...I think

1987 X2: Rips pretty good and has some 80's flare.

    I thought the 550sx was a REED 550.
    Anyway, could be wrong.

If this is your first standup, why dont you just ride it and see how it goes. The 550sx is a pretty good ski and be tons of fun for a 'poor college student' for a while.

Only 91+ 550sx's are REED. I definitely plan on getting some good use out of it this summer the way it is. I just like to have a clear plan of attack and know what i need so i can save up money accordingly along the way and pick up parts for good deals.

Some quick easy mods are welcome too. Just trying to figure out how to do this thing right.

I would put some good hours on it riding before going to town on mod parts.

Ride it and make sure you can pay for gas before you "mod" it. Peanut butter and jelly is always a good staple. Corn is good, too. You can always wash and reuse it...
I'm only here to make you mad

I'll tell your girl you said "hi".

Itll get its use over summer when ill be working so wont be as broke then haha.

I think what im looking for then is any sort of mod that excludes the engine lol. So like hull braces, sponsons, quick steer, and any other cosmetics or handling. Dont want to put money into an engine that im going to be taking out anyway. unless its a fairly good deal. Its already in pretty mint condition so theres not really any restoration or fixes needed either
