Gp760 potential purchase
Hi, looking at a 97 Gp760 with dbl trailer. Has a fast water leak, midshaft bearing an seals?? Has 140ish in 1 an close to 0 in other cylinder.
Ski looks to be in decent shape otherwise from pics.
Haven't seen the ski in person about 2.5hr away. Mainly interested in the trailer, may fix ski depending what's all wrong.
At $600 for all, sound like a decent deal?

I bet the ring snagged the port and ripped the top off the piston

Re: Gp760 potential purchase
A quality galvanized double trailer are $800 minimum, painted depends on the condition.
The GP760 depends on your skills, the value of your time, and the condition of the hull and drive:
Leaks are relatively easy to fix if you can figure out where it is: seals, minor cracks in hull, compromised cooling system, whatever.
Rebuilding a motor is a relatively easy thing to do, but depending on what is wrong with it it might be cheaper to swap in a working one. It just depends on the amount of damage the cylinders themselves took. Some guys pull 3 cylinders out of the bigger GP boats to swap into Blasters. This liberates a 701 that often ends up on the used market, so twins are available.
Unless the trailer and GP760 are both complete basket cases it sounds like a good deal.

Re: Gp760 potential purchase
Thanks for the imput, guy ended up selling before I could pick up....
Other found on Craigslist, posted it on GH also.
Guy has a
96waveventure 700 an a 97gp760 with double aluminum triton trailer. Both skis have about 200hrs, #'s he gave are about 125-130 psi on both engines.
Says run an no issues...I'd do my own comp check an lookover.
Gp dash doesn't work an missing glove box lid.
Skis look in decent shape from pics.*
If I looked at would do comp test an hear them run.. bad part no water test frozen or ice water.
Thoughts on compression #'s..
Price is $2500 for package..
