    Custom garage stand/beach cart

Hey guys so what do you have out there for custom garage/shop stands or beach carts??? I've assembled 2 garage stands now out of wood and this second one is boy far an upgrade from the first I made back in 2011. I have a set of foam filled wheels I plan on using to make a beach cart out of, but I'm undecided on what to use. Is PVC strong enough to handle the weight of a ski? Lets see some pictures of what you guys have constructed!!!!

I made these both out of pretty much wood I had laying around, came out great in my opinion. Let me know if you have any ideas for me on the beach cart. Thanks!!

I made the bases of mine wider then my jetski. This way if I snag a bolt or rock it’s not going to fall over

Current ones are out of wood. But there lower to the ground since I only use them for moving the skis around the garage.

Then if I need to work on them they go on a beach cart.

That's strong I'm sure but pretty heavy. I'm looking for something I can potentially fold up and store away.

I find that 2" schedule 40 PVC pipe is barely enough to handle my 750sx. I use it as a shop stand and water stand. I have had to make a repair to a cracked pipe on it. Schedule 80 would be much better or alternatively go with 3" PVC.

I always thought it would be great to build a shop stand out of a shopping cart.

Unfortunately, now that I've seen one, I think they look pretty bad. Might be functional, though...

I really want to build something like that tiger tote. Can't justify what they cost for what I would use it for. Just moving the ski out of the basement and onto the dock twice a year. I have a set of wheels lying around, maybe I can fab something up to replicate that cart using 3" pvc?

Also that shopping cart stand looks funny, I find having all the wheels turn 360 degrees around helpful on mine for what I'm using it for. Couldn't beat the $14 for two dollies at ocean job lots. I just put screws in them and put them on underneath, giving me 8 free turning wheels.

My first though upon seeing that was to modify a dolly, like this one from Harbor Fright. This one is $40, before any coupons/sales/etc:

I love harbor freight! I was actually there today. I have a set of wheels lying in the basement. Similar to those on that dolly, that came with something I bought. I'm thinking about just using 2x4 to make something using those wheels for the price of it. But I don't want it to be heavy, and really want to be able to take it apart when needed.

Here is one I made of junk. Atv wheels, axle from a fertilizer spreader, handle is a bed frame, base is an old engine stand.

I've made a couple. First one is from a HF furniture dolly, a couple pieces of 2x8 & some scrap carpet.

Second is a trailer I made out of a galvanized fence post, some scrap angle iron, an EBay hub/axle kit, some DOM, & some old ATV rims & tires. Works great behind the golf cart.
