    Early 440 ebox with later 550 stator?

    Anyone know or have experience running a newer 550 stator with an older early model (the larger one) 440 ebox? Seems like I remember running this combo successfully years ago but can't find my notes on it and my memory ain't as good as it used to be..

    Main reason I'm questioning is because the exciter and pulse coils have different "good" ranges for the early year 440's according to Clymers.
    91' 550sx (650 conversion)
    89' js550 (650 conversion)
    77' js440 (now 550)
    94' Seadoo XP
    93' X2
    88' X2 (750 conversion w/ Blaster Limited pipe)

    Still haven't found an answer? Anyone out there that's ran this combo? Guess I will give it a go and report back my findings..

    Yea i think i have ran that set-up before on someones ski. I'm sure it worked out for the guy i did it for.

    It will work. make sure your ebox has a 'Stopper' relay other wise you have to hold down the stop until it shuts off. you can just add one if you dont have one.
    It also depends on your start stop combo.

    Swapped the individual start/stop switches for the new style with lanyard.. When pulled the spring on the face plate holds the button.. If manually shutting it off you just have to hold down the stop button..
