    Re: conversion ski exhaust

I have a FPP XIR pipe in my conversion ski as well. It measures almost identical to a Blaster pipe in cone lengths, girth and length. It is so much better than the FPP 650 pipe set-up it replaced it's unbelievable. It does require a hull blister and some pipe massaging but way worth it to me. I had it behind a Newmiller SP torque motor and it was amazing the hit it had about 1/4 throttle and pulled hard the rest of the way... not real linear power but a lot of fun! Wristpin clip exited the exhaust on the last run ... bummer... ruined cylinder.
Going to put in one of my PJS 9000 motors which should be better port timing for the pipe.
I think the big diameter pipes are the way to go if you can get one to fit...
"Thanks" to Chris Newmiller @ Newmiller Machine

more volume equals more power. this is a lot of the reason why i didnt get a new 650 factory pipe is that it just doesnt have the volume as it is designed for a 650 cc engine, not a 750 or 800.
