    KIDDE fire extinguisher recall

It's pretty easy to do and cover PWC type units

Score! I have a lot of bad Kidde fire extinguishers. Looks like I'm getting some new ones...

    Re: KIDDE fire extinguisher recall

I just received my replacement extinguishers yesterday. Just to let everyone know, Kidde changed the form factor on their marine extinguishers. There is no longer a PWC version. The replacements are shorter and the diameter is larger. They also now have a lever style handle and gauge vs. the old style push button. In my case, they no longer fit into the existing mounting location on my Kawasaki's (seat canister on the STX and under the hood on the sxr). My old extinguisher model# was M5P and the replacement they sent was the Mariner 5. Kidde provided return instructions for the old one's, but I think I'll keep them for the time being.
