    Best pipe for sxi pro?

    Hey guys, newbie here.

I recently picked up an sxi pro.

What would be the best pipe to get for a little more top speed, more peppiness, and better bottom end?

    Thanks.

Factory Pipe Limited. We have 2 SXi Pros with that pipe and they really woke the skis up.

Factory pipe, they're a pretty penny.

Coffmans are pretty good too. I've got a 3 piece with inline silencer for sale at a good price if you're interested

Either one will change your ski.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

fp dry pipe with ecwi is the only way to go.

Re: Best pipe for sxi pro?

This is a long and involved conversation for some, as it depends how you want your skis to handle.

The 750 factory limited pipe is the standard go to, and I have more time on skis with that pipe than any other type of ski. With a stock engine and a factory pipe, the ski has less power until the pipe comes on than the engine does stock. This is the weakness of the limited pipe. It feels like it hits so hard, because it actually decreases in power over the engine stock before the pipe hits. And even then, the big increase I find to be way higher than usable. For example, as I have said before, because of this my 09 bone stock superjet has way more power and torque till the pipe hits on a 750. It will physically yank you out of the water where a limited pipe 750 will not.

Now, if you optimize things perfectly, and swap out the cylinder or go to a 800 engine, with everything done, the pro actually can have really good low end. My brother's with a ported 800, sxr carbs, and Advent ignition- usual mods, hits really hard with a limited pipe. It's in the region somewhere between where my 550/750 and ported 550/800.

As far as wet pipes go, I personally prefer the TNT / NYNJA pipe. That has a better, more linear power band that also lasts 2-300 rpm more, which is much more desirable for racing.

As far as the dry pipes, the sxi pro factory pipe dry pipe isn't as good with ECWI as a SXR dry factory pipe is without it. I have never been a fan of dry pipes without ECWI and the SXR pipe, although good, I never liked. The best dry pipe that fits is the rare and prone to cracking Speedwerx dry. That is in the region of being as good as the sxr dry.

So in a nut shell, if you want a real strong mid range that you can use for freestyle- limited 750 pipe on a freestyle ported 750sx, 750 ss xi, or 800 cylinder all day. If you want a 2 cyl race set up, Nynja/ TNT. And if you're fine using ECWI and adding a bit extra weight, try messing with the dry pipes. Hope that helps.

restosud, on your race pros you used the pro fp dry pipe?

I'd personally recommend the Nynja / TNT Superstock or Speedwerx. As far as wet pipes go for racing I'd definitely recommend the Nynja / TNT over the FP limited pipe.
