    2 Stroke Oils

Sorry for the newbie questions.......cant see any definitive quick answer in the search function without days of going through tons of irrelevant pages

What oils are people using for pre-mixing?

    Synthetic or mineral type?
Any particular brand or grade been better than others?

    Synthetic is best.

What quality/grade of oil depends on the Manufacturer's recommendations, for a completely stock pwc.

Guys will freak when I say this, but I just use $12/gallon Walmart SuperTech TCW-3 oil on all my Stock and Limited Pump Gas Jetskis. Most rev between 6800 and 7300 rpms, Have one that revs at 7600 rpms going strong for 3 years now.

Better to list your PWC set-up and peak rpms: compression, carb sizes, pipe, impeller; then recommendations can be made for your PWC.

It is critical for the engines to be air-tight and for the carburetors to be tuned right first. Thereafter, oil quality requirements are a direct function of piston speed, thus engine rpm.

cheap stuff with tcw-3 rating, or you could use the flash stuff for $40 a jug just to prove you have lots of money and have brand name oil in your ski .

Yamalube @60:1 ratio. I use a sharpie on my ratio-rite. I like my purple gas in my white jugs. Easy to see how much I have left.

Been using Walmart supertech but not sure if it will cause any damage over the long term as I've only been using it for 18 years or so?

Don, is that 18 years on the same, unmolested engine? I have 17 yrs on my 2000 SLX, never opened the engine once. I'm not running Supertech, however.
