    Fogging Yamaha 2013 FX SHO

I have read a lot about winterizing here and other blogs.

My understanding that i need to remove the smaller hose in the picture and spray fogging oil for about 10 sec while the engine is running and then shut it off.

I am confused as i have read i need to spray in the smaller hose to put oil in supercharger or bigger one to put oil in the engine.

Other people tell me that 4 strokes supercharged do not fogging oil.

I also understand that people have their way of doing things, but any one aware of what Yamaha has to say about it?
Thank you very much for the help.Yami1800-original-1.jpg

If the oil goes into the intake manifold why would it not fog the cylinders?

The worst part to me is that no one knows for sure. People just have ideas and guessing.

Not a guess.that is how its done.the supercharger sends the charge in too fast to do any good.

AC 46 can you please try to explain? I am really trying to understand. Smaller hose is to supercharger. Big one into the intake manifold. If i spray into the small one i will fog supercharger adn then cylinders. If i go direct to the big hose then i am still fogging cylinders?

Small and big hose go to supercharger then intercooler then intake/throttle body then by valves to combustion chamber then out exhaust.

Re: Fogging Yamaha 2013 FX SHO

The owners manual for my 2016 V1 sport non supercharged TR1 says spray fog oil for 3 seconds into intake with motor off then start motor and run for 15 seconds

The owners manual for your 2013 FX SHO page 99 says
Have a Yamaha dealer rustproof internal engine parts
It looks like the supercharger and inter cooler make it more complicated to get a good fog coating where it belongs - a teaspoon in each plug hole would help but you need to decide if that's enough in view of your owners manual instructions.
