2015 SVHO Catastrophic failure from water ingestion

Other than failed hose, seal, or gasket, how is it possible for air filter to be wet, and motor fails from water ingestion, considering bilge pump works fine, and craft has never been submerged? Warranty expired. Dealer states water presence negates any claim on goodwill warranty.

Bone stock 140 hours with new dealer Havasu Motorsports guided break-in Feb. 15. No oil consumption with scheduled changes.

Bent valves and rods, along with various metal bits and shavings in oil caused by over compression from water ingestion. Motor knocked a bit before quitting. Still turns over, but no fire.

Did you run it while connected to the garden hose?

From what I am hearing the 1.8 motor works extremely well and that the only known failures were the bad batch of timing chains that were snapping.. I just did a rebuild on a fx140 motor that the old owner left the water running with the engine off. It seized up the motor hydrolocked it and then rusted the rings in the cylinder...

Are your cylinder walls scared up or are they able to be honed out ? Could save a lot of money with just pistons, rods, bearings and crank vs new case...
