    Rfi fuel pump

Where does the signal originate that turns pump on? Fuel pump energizes when key is plugged in, starts, runs fine, dies of low fuel pressure, 4 beeps later pump pressures up and cycle continues. Replaced pump regulator with little effect. (2004 3D) THANKS

The throttle solenoid and fuel pump are operated directly from the VCM. The injector pulse comes from the MPEM.

    Re: Rfi fuel pump

THANKS, but what if anything is monitoring fuel line pressure? Since the pressure is being regulated at pump, could the pump continuously operate bleeding excess fuel in tank? Is there a sensor in throttle solenoid? THANKS again

    Re: Rfi fuel pump

Nothing, most fuel injection systems dont "watch" fuel pressure. This is why we need to check fuel pressure manually. On the rfi there is no port for that. Since its a low pressure system i usually tee one into the supply line.
Yes, if something comes loose or the internal bypass in the pump goes bad it could run and run just dumping fuel back inside the tank.
