    Winter shrink wrapping inquiry

Can y'all give me an idea of the approximate cost of having a ski shrink wrapped? It's a ZXI1100 in south central Michigan.

    Tia,
    Rick

Shrink wrap is the kind of thing we usually see on boats, rarely, if ever, on PWCs. Wouldn't be much, like $100 or so. Be sure to have them install supports so the shrink wrap is off the seat & an opening so you can install a dehumidifier in it.

Not rare at all we used to shrink wrap them all the time, here is the skinny on that, you want the seat left off and you want vents installed in the rear, either take it the seat off and take it home to store separately or put it in the footwell and then shrink wrap the ski, we made the vents out of Dixie cups cut in half and taped onto the shrink wrap with shrink wrap tape , of course you will use cardboard or extra shrink wrap material over the top of the seat, grab handles and the steering cover to prevent heat damage when shrinking the material with the torch.

Shrink wrapping is charged by the foot, find out how charge per foot on the boats and multiply that by the length of your ski, if they want more than that amount go elsewhere.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm not crazy about having it out but I don't have inside storage room for them so at least one will end up outside

Buy a cover instead of spending $100 a year.

Buy a polyester cover on the internet for $50. Go to Harbor freight and get a silver(better quality tarp) 11X18 on sale for $21.00 and use the 20% off coupon.

Make sure the ski has all the water dried out of the bottom of the hull. Wax and winterize ski. Leave the seat loose and cover with cover and then follow up with tarp.

Your set for at least 3 years of covering not only during winter months but also in the summer.
